Whether it is cricket or football, the Indian teams, across sports, have been seen sporting the iconic blue jerseys. But, as far as cricket is concerned, the Indian team is set to change all that as they gear up for their upcoming clash against England in the ICC World Cup on 30th June.

Ahead of the tournament, the International Cricket Council (ICC) introduced a new rule wherein they asked the participating nations to sport home and away jerseys in the mega event. “For televised ICC events all participating teams will be required to provide for two different coloured kits, except for the host country who has preference in the choice of colour and may, if it chooses to do so, provide only one coloured kit to be worn in all matches throughout the event. In advance of the event, the teams will be notified which coloured kit will be worn in each match,” the ICC rule says.

We saw South Africa, who generally sport green jersey with yellow shade, donning the reverse of their preferred colour combination (dominant yellow with patches of green) during their clash against Bangladesh earlier in the tournament. Then, there was Afghanistan trading their iconic blue jersey for the one with more areas of red.
